Whatcom Speed Skating Club, located in Bellingham, Washington is a volunteer run, non-profit organization that encourages youth and adult fitness and character development through participation in Short Track Speed Skating. Skating sessions are held weekly on Tuesday evenings at the Bellingham Sportsplex. Protective gear is required for all skaters, padding is in place along rink edge, coaching is provided for beginners and advanced skaters. lnner-club participation is encouraged within Northwest Washington and British Columbia. On the ice September – March. Discounted fees for first time skaters.
All Skill Levels Welcome: Large or small, big or tall, fast or slow, all skill levels welcome. Coaches and training at every session.

Bypass Sportsplex window and find us out by the rink!
We do a dry-land warm-up at 6:45pm.
We’re on the ice 7:30-8:30pm.

Long sleeves / long pants
(Once you’re skating with the fast group, you’ll need cut-resistant gloves, safety glasses, and neck guard, in addition to the gear above.)

U.S. Speedskating: Once you’ve skated with us three times, membership with U.S. Speedskating is required. Take a look at USS website to join and see the benefits of membership, including national promotion, skill development resources and insurance.
Great workout and excellent cross training: Speed Skating is an excellent form of cross training for cycling, running, hockey, and figure skating and cycling.
